The ex-principal at the Academy of Dover Charter School, Noel Rodriguez, was sentenced to 13 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $140,000 in restitution for embezzling federal education funds. Rodriguez misappropriated approximately $127,000 between July 2011 and October 2014 according to the State Auditor's office. A three year state investigation revealed Rodriguez spent federal dollars on personal expenses such as travel, home improvements, electronics, and car expenses. Rodriguez pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court and faces up to 10 years in prison and a $240,000 fine.
